Delicious food, overall delightful place.
Really great place for one night. Everything there were perfect, including perfect facilities. Magnificent and brilliant location for visiting restaurants and golf courses minutes away from the hotel. Found in a local area.

The friendliness of all the staff. The fact that me and my patner walked in and felt welcome. The value for money was great. I would defiantly stay again ad it has easy access to Alton towers. Highly recommended.
Nothing didn't like, but would of been nice to have a welcome pack/menus in the room.

Location and proximity to Alton towers was perfect for us. Our stay was fairly functional in that regard.
On arrival I was greeted by the owner who tried to charge me double until she realised the error of her ways. Her tone was irritating. We had a drink in the bar but weren't told that it was last orders or that they were closing until it was too late so we went down to the sneyd pub which was far more hospitable. There was no hot water in the morning and when the same person was told, nothing was done to rectify this so it was cold showers for everyone. The continental breakfast was ok.

The decor throughout the hotel felt stylish and modern. The manageress proved to be a great hostess, cute us with warmth. Food quality impressed me. The presentation was beautiful, and portion sizes were generous. I especially enjoyed the breakfast options. I noticed some external areas were a bit untidy. The creaky floorboards from rooms above were slightly disruptive at times, which impacted our quiet experience. Despite these minor inconveniences, I look forward to returning for another visit.

It was close to Alton Towers.
The food was appaulling, I had fish and chips for my dinner and the chips came out hard. There was no atmosphere in the restaurant, there was no music and the decor is incredibly dated. All we had to listen to throughout our meal was a TV from the other room. We ordered dessert in the hope it would be better than our main meal, we ordered sticky toffee pudding, which we heard being heated up in the microwave and didn't come with any toffee sauce, so infact it was a lump or dry pudding. Our breakfast was just as disappointing, I had the continential breakfast, which was 2 pieces of dried cold "toast" and a horrid dry croissant. Whilst eating out breakfast the kitchen took a delivery, so as we sat and ate we have to manoevour ourselves out of the way while a delivery man came through with 3 large boxes. The remote control for our TV in our room did not work, so we had to get up every time we wanted to change the channel. When we went to have a shower in the morning the cold tap did not work so we had to scold ourselves to have a shower. Overall quite disappointed with Whiston Hall and definately not worth the price.

The golf countryside scenery was absolutely beautiful. The staff was friendly.
The small single bed was very wobbly, kept knocking against the wall with every movement.

The view from the hotel was excellent and good location for Alton Towers.
We were required to pay for the room on arrival which I found unusual, especially as we were then able to run up a room 'tab' throughout our stay. While the booking was for a double room, the bed was not a double bed but two single beds pushed together with double sheets and duvet. The room (number 2) suffered from a lot of noise from the room above, with upstairs footsteps, floorboards, doors and shower loudly and clearly audible from our room below. I have stayed in many higher quality hotels for the same price per night.
